Game of Thrones | LEGO
As much as I love Lego takes on pop culture, why were the Khal Drogo legomen white-washed? It’s completely unnecessary.
I think my favorite is the Red Lady!
Based on the three seconds of googling I just did, there isn’t a very wide range of skintones on lego minifigures — there’s yellow, there’s light “white person” skinned, and there’s dark “black person” skinned without a whole lot of in between.
Not trying to excuse the LEGO Game of Thrones creator, of course — but we should totally start thinking of ways to encourage LEGO to create a wider range of skintones if they’re going to deviate from LEGO yellow in the first place. That would be pretty dang awesome.

I would love it if they made a Lego GOT video game. The intended audience of Lego games would not.
I… honestly just though the last picture was of a woman ‘loving’ a rubber clad sex slave.
It’s alright, I’ve got it now.
Official TLG policy is to never vary from the yellow, except for licensed sets (ie movie tie-ins)*. The lack of variation is mostly due to the lack of variation in the licensed sets. [Heck, most of the skewed ratio of male:female minifigs is due to licensed sets, too, at least recently.] Frankly, the licensed stuff tends to be incredibly white & male. [Lord of the Rings, I'm looking at you!]
So yeah, not a lot to pick from unless you want a zombie head. Or f’in Tonto. There’s this guy, but it’s not a good match. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpb626
*and DUPLO. DUPLO gets All The Skin Tones, and a ratio of more female figures than male.
The head on that Ned looks a little loose to me…
Six video game couples that have stuck with me over the years, each representing a different sort of love.
For the few weeks every two years when we care about sports.
