The Flash Costume’s Finally Been Revealed in All Its Crimson and Gold Glory

After that last tantalizing profile image of Grant Gustin in the Flash costume made waves across the Internet, CW is showing us another peak at the soon-to-be-released superhero garb—this time from the front.

We’ll be excited to see the costume from a less dynamic, better lit angle once the show makes it to air, but this first look is pretty solid, although cosplayers are probably not going to be happy with the different fabric textures, since that looks like it’ll be pretty hard to replicate. Also, can we talk about how freakin’ baby-faced and angelic Gustin looks here? Seriously, I would kill a man for eyelashes like that.

The CW seems pretty pleased with their efforts, of course. “I hope the fans who treasure the character are as excited as we are by what costume designer Colleen Atwood has achieved with this latest version of The Flash’s iconic suit,” said executive producer David Nutter said in their press release. It definitely looks a lot less like the Crimson Chin from the front like this, so good job there, CW. Or bad job, depending on how much you love the Crimson Chin.

Flash is currently filming in Vancouver with Grant Gustin as the titular Barry Allen. We expect it’ll probably show up alongside Arrow sometime on the CW 2014-2015 schedule.
