With all the hype surrounding the LEGO Batman movie, it’s easy to forget there’s another animated adventure coming out this year. LEGO Ninjago centers on the young Master Builder Lloyd (aka the Green Ninja) who, along with his friends, is a secret ninja warrior. Led by the wise-cracking Master Wu, they must defeat the evil warlord Garmadon who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. The epic showdown will test the team who must set aside their egos and unite to unleash their inner power of Spinjitzu.
The film stars Jackie Chan as Master Wu, Justin Theroux as Garmadon, Dave Franco as Lloyd and Olivia Munn as Lloyd’s mom, Koko. The team of secret ninja warriors includes Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña and Zach Woods. It marks the feature film directorial debut of Charlie Bean and features a script from Hilary Winston, Bob Logan and Paul Fisher.
The film heads to theaters on September 22.
