In Which We Make A Terrible Pun

We Have Much-a Love For These Art Nouveau Disney Princesses

[View All on One Page]

That pun in the title may be a bit stinky, as the best puns are, but this series of Mucha-inspired Disney princesses by Hannah Alexander (Never Bird Designs on Society6) definitely isn’t. Tiana doesn’t get enough fanart. Way to go.

    Where’s Emma?

Snow White is rocking that hair.

    Gorgeous!

Who’s Emma? Do you perchance mean Anna? Unless I’m really just forgetting someone…

Emma Swan from Once Upon a Time.

Oh! I don’t really watch OUaT, so I forgot about her. I think the artist probably omit her because they were doing animated princesses.

These are beautiful, but Mulan doesn’t look anything like I remember. Needs more armor.

  • Dessa Brewington

I’ll “fawn”-ze over these for days.

Hey, don’t hate. The Mary Sue started it with their Much-a joke.

So beautiful! The lighting in Tiana’s one, lovely.

These are artistically lovely, but Mulan, Jasmine, and Merida just don’t look like themselves. The combination of face shape and expression just isn’t working.

…it’s possible I just react negatively to anyone trying to put Mulan in the very feminine clothing she was so clearly uncomfortable with in her movie.

  • Janelle S

She was uncomfortable in formal clothing, but she wore her everyday feminine clothing just fine.

Which is why I said “very feminine” rather than just “feminine”. Granted, it may not have been the best choice. The way I saw it, what made her uncomfortable was the clothing that restricted her role to being essentially a pretty commodity.

  • Rachel Ripley

I usually adore art nouveau, but not really digging these apart from Pocahontas and Tiana, I think it’s the weird manga-style eyes.

  • Tallulah Alice Mae

These look a lot like those lovely images of the Serenity/Firefly ladies someone did several years ago?

  • Jesse Tannehill

    Those are by Megan Lara.

WOW!!! Such wonderful, beautiful art! They all look so classy, stylish and full f energy! Really, DeviantArt is just full of hyper-talented people. Whoever drew this, I hope you’ll have a long, great career, and certainly hope to see more from you.
