Woman lists her Bruno Mars ticket on Ticketmaster for $299. Then finds her seat listed for $422 and realizes how much they kept: ‘That is so gross’
That is too much

For many music fans, purchasing concert tickets has become a frustrating ordeal. Prices often rise within minutes, and extra fees plus dynamic pricing can significantly increase the cost, making tickets more expensive than anticipated. This problem has prompted criticism of platforms like Ticketmaster, which has faced scrutiny for high prices, with brickbuster69 among them.
In a TikTok video, brickbuster69 expressed anger at Ticketmaster after she realized they were reselling her Bruno Mars concert tickets for almost double what she was getting from selling them to them. “This is my Bruno Mars ticket that I have listed for 299,” she said, pulling up a screenshot that confirmed her claims. The picture also showed that Ticketmaster had deducted service fees totaling $44.85, bringing the amount she would actually be paid to $254.15.
Then, pointing at the screen showing that Ticketmaster was selling her ticket for $422. 45, she said, “Tell me why I am on Ticketmaster right now looking at my ticket, and you guys have it listed for this. Same section, same row, same seat.” She ended her video expressing dissatisfaction over her experience. She said, “What is wrong with you? That is so gross. That is so gross to me. Oh, my gosh.”
“Ticketmaster is the scalper”
The comments section under brickbuster69’s video wasn’t kind towards Ticketmaster. Some People accused them of being money-grabbers. One user wrote, “Wow so it isn’t you guys reselling it that expensive. Cause I was always like damn they greedy lol Ticketmaster has gone down the drain. Everything is money greedy.” Another said, “ticketmaster is the scalper, I don’t care what anyone says. ticketmaster is the scalper.”
Few people spoke of having similar experiences with the app. One person commented, “no stop it cause fr i had to low the price to 330€ when i bought it for 465€ cause if i listed it for 465€ they was showing it at like 589€ or something.” Another stated, “Years ago I tried to resell my bad bunny tickets for $185. It was the same price I bought them and Ticketmaster wouldn’t let me because it wasn’t “market value”. Smfh.”
Others in the comments also voiced concerns about Ticketmaster, an app that has faced increasing criticism from music fans over recent years. Notably, there was considerable negative discussion in November 2022 during the Taylor Swift 2023 Eras Tour presale, when the website crashed. Ticketmaster then canceled the general sale, citing low stock. However, it was later revealed that scalpers had infiltrated the system and were reselling tickets at high prices. Swift publicly criticized Ticketmaster.
The ticket sales and distribution company again came under intense scrutiny in November 2025, when Olivia Dean accused it of excessively high resale prices for her “The Art of Loving Live” tour tickets. Ticketmaster responded by promising to limit resale prices in the future and to refund those who had paid inflated prices.
Brickbuster69 has yet to provide an update on the incident. Do you think Ticketmaster will reach out to her with a solution?
