‘What Is This?’: Customer Spots a Strange Chick-fil-A Accessory. Then She Says It Looks Medically Suspicious
You can’t unsee it.

Chick-fil-A just handed out a cow-shaped toy that looks exactly like an inhaler, and the internet can’t stop laughing about it. TikTok creator Emma, @x…emma…xx, posted a video holding up the small plastic cow figure that came with her order, tilting it toward the camera while asking, “Chick-fil-A. What is this? It looks like you’re giving away cow inhalers.” The caption, “Go get your Cow inhaler at your local Chick-fil-A today! Not sponsored,” turned the whole thing into an instant meme.
The toy, which is either a promotional giveaway or part of a kids’ meal, struck Emma as weirdly medical – its shape and design just screamed inhaler, and once you see it, you can’t unsee it. Viewers flooded the comments with their own takes, some joking that the cow toy was perfect for holding vitamins or Band-Aids, while others admitted they had no idea what it was supposed to be.
One person wrote, “Fun fact (at least for the one around me) you can trade the lame toys in for a free ice cream cone.” Another said, “I asked my son for it. Now it holds my daily vitamins and Tums.” The toy’s ambiguous design even sparked debates about whether Chick-fil-A’s promotional items are getting stranger, or if people are just overthinking a plastic cow.
Chick-fil-A’s cow mascot made news earlier this year too
The chain has been leaning hard into its “Eat Mor Chikin” mascot this summer. It brought back Cow Appreciation Day on July 14 for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers who showed up in cow-inspired spots or full costumes got a free entrée, and kids who participated received a new “Cow Kart” toy.
The event was part of Chick-fil-A’s 80th anniversary “Newstalgia” campaign, which Vice President of Brand Strategy Khalilah Cooper described as a way to “deliver timeless favorites with fresh new twists.” The cows, which first appeared on a billboard in 1995 with the phrase “Eat Mor Chikin,” have become one of the most recognizable advertising mascots in fast food.
This year, the chain has doubled down on the cow theme with redesigned restaurant spaces featuring floor-to-ceiling illustrations and interactive games, plus a new Chick-fil-A Play App that includes cow-themed games and an animated series called Cow Squad. According to Chick-Fil-A, the app, which launched in 2024, is meant to extend the fun beyond the restaurant, offering games, podcasts, and shows for kids on the go.
From immersive games to new merch, the Chick-fil-A cows are everywhere
One of the newest additions is Cowz World, an immersive game where players explore “Barn HQ” and compete in multiplayer races. There’s also Cow Squad, a seven-minute animated series starring Daisy, Sarge, and Carrots – the chain’s beloved cow trio – on “Code Moo” adventures. The toys themselves have gotten a glow-up too.
Chick-fil-A’s latest kids’ meal collection includes interactive playsets, Hasbro classics with a cow twist, and “Cow Cases” that double as storage for small items. Some toys even come with educational elements, like Moo Mission Activity Books or “Recipe Remix” kits that turn meal prep into family time. A spokesperson described the new lineup as “designed to spark genuine creativity and unplugged play.”
The cow inhaler toy isn’t the first Chick-fil-A freebie to raise eyebrows
The chain has a history of quirky promotional items, from cow-shaped clip-on toys to 3D playsets that double as storage. Some parents have even admitted to swapping the toys for ice cream cones when their kids lose interest, which says a lot about how hit-or-miss these giveaways can be. The comments on Emma’s video prove that point.
One person wrote, “They have the WORST toys. We gave up and swap for ice cream cups,” while another joked, “This toy floated around my daycare for weeks. Nobody knew what the hell it was.” Even Emma herself wasn’t impressed, replying to a comment about a surprise inside, saying, “I saw that but I mean it’s not that great of a toy. Not entertaining for young kids.”
The cow inhaler toy is just the latest example of how fast-food promotions can take on a life of their own online. In an era where customers film every odd detail of their orders, a simple plastic cow that looks like a medical device becomes instant content. Whether Chick-fil-A intended for the toy to look like an inhaler or not, the internet has spoken – and now everyone who sees it will think the same thing.
