Walmart Spark Driver Sprints Back to Her Car as 30 Chickens Chase Her Down a Customer’s Driveway: ‘I Have a Childhood Trauma of Chickens’

Gig delivery drivers routinely navigate missing apartment numbers, steep staircases, aggressive guard dogs, and even tense exchanges with customers over who is picking up an order. What they never calculate for is stepping out of their vehicle and straight into a full-scale farm animal ambush.
For creator Taylor Brooks (@taylor.d.brooks), a Walmart Spark drop-off allegedly morphed into an impromptu sprint through a personal barnyard. In a hilarious TikTok storytime, she recounted the sudden terror of pulling up to a delivery and finding her childhood fear chasing her across the yard.
According to her, what the customer framed as a casual request to protect pets turned into a tense standoff involving sixty farm animals. Brooks then had to fight against time to pull off an urgent sprint back to the car door.
A Routine Walmart Spark Drop-Off Turned Into a Scary Standoff Against 60 Animals
The chaos allegedly began with an in-app text message from the customer on the Walmart Spark app. As Brooks approached the delivery destination, the customer reportedly sent a polite heads-up: “Hey, when you come in, can you make sure you shut my gate so my animals don’t get out?”
Delivery instructions involving pets don’t always go smoothly, as one Amazon customer found when a driver ignored his note and his dog destroyed the package. Brooks assumed the warning simply referred to a typical domestic dog. So, she pulled through the long driveway confidently and stepped out to close the gate behind her vehicle. However, upon arrival, she found the front yard swarming with dozens of farm animals.
Roughly thirty goats and thirty chickens roaming freely across the path to the front door greeted Brooks, instead of a golden retriever. “I don’t know them chickens, I don’t know them goats. I don’t know what’s on their mind, okay? And when I say I was scared, I was scared,” Brooks admitted.
She also revealed that she has a childhood fear of chickens and goats. “I’m not gonna lie, I have a childhood trauma of chickens… there’s no way in f—k she thinks I’m finna get out… You’re going to at least watch me put the groceries to make sure your goats don’t attack me,” she thought to herself. So, she locked herself inside her vehicle.
Brooks finally cracked her window down when the customer came out and told her she was terrified. But the owner allegedly dismissed the fear, insisting the herd was more afraid of Brooks than she was of them. Regardless, Brooks waited until the owner physically ushered the animals away before unloading the grocery bags.
A Frantic Sprint Through the Front Gate Put Brooks in Fight-or-Flight Mode
While the drop-off went off without a hitch, leaving the property allegedly proved to be an entirely separate gauntlet. To exit, Brooks had to drive back down the long gravel driveway, manually swing the gate open, drive her vehicle through, and re-latch it. But when she pulled up to the fence, the entire herd of goats and chickens had reportedly migrated to the barrier, cutting off her exit.
Stepping out, Brooks reportedly saw the chickens charging toward her in search of food. Panic set in and she hurriedly ran to shove the gate open. She then sprinted back into the driver’s seat, pulled the car through the threshold, and leaped back out to slam the lock shut before any animals slipped past.
“I got pep in my step, I’m moving, because them chickens are chasing me… They are quite literally chasing me, and I’m scared!” Brooks laughed. Her husband was reportedly connected on the phone with her throughout the chaotic gate escape. And he was reportedly amused by her panicked commentary.
Brooks joked that even though her husband found her sprinting from barnyard fowl hilarious, she had zero regrets about treating the encounter like an extreme obstacle course.
