Walmart leads Georgia Spark driver to the woods for delivery. Then she ‘finesses’ the customer’s groceries: ‘I hope you’re just playing’

A Georgia woman thought she would make some quick money delivering some groceries. That is, until the GPS sent her to a random street in the middle of nowhere.

In a viral TikTok video with 14,500 views, user Kaya (@kaya.papaya00) explained why she ended up driving away with a customer’s grocery order.

“So I low-key just ran off with somebody’s groceries,” the woman began in the clip. “But it wasn’t my fault.”

According to the woman who works for Spark Driver, a Walmart delivery app, she had no choice but to keep the groceries.

She explained that she successfully completed another order around the same time, so she thought the one in question would be a breeze.

However, it was anything but simple.

The content creator explained that when she arrived at the delivery address, she was left smack dab in the middle of nowhere.

“It literally dropped me off at a trail in the woods,” she explained to her viewers.

What Happened After The Walmart Driver Had The Wrong Address?

The driver immediately noticed something was wrong.

So she contacted the customer, who attempted to drive to her location.

When that plan failed, the customer tried to have the driver meet them at another location.

Then the content creator realized that she could only process the drop-off at the address provided by the app.

“The way the app works, if you’re not in the general vicinity of where the pin is, where you put your address, then it won’t let me drop off the order,” she said.

Despite the efforts of both the driver and customer, the delivery was never successfully completed.

However, what the delivery worker did next made some viewers raise concerns.

Did A Delivery Driver Steal A Customer’s Groceries?

The woman said she did make several attempts to call the shopper, but her service was spotty.

So ultimately, she made the choice to leave the location with the bag of groceries.

She went through the bag of groceries on camera and also asked viewers to inform the customer that she had them if they knew who she was.

“Please tell them I’m not tryna steal their groceries,” she also said.

The woman also said she would donate the items to a local food pantry. This is should she not be able to get in contact with the person who ordered them.

On Spark Driver’s website, it explains that a driver can start a return order if they are unable to complete a delivery.

In the situation where a driver is can’t find a location, or the location was unsafe, the items can be returned.

It is unclear whether or not the Walmart driver would still be compensated for their time.

Commenters criticize the driver’s behavior

In the video’s comments section, many took issue with the driver’s behavior.

They believed that she should’ve just returned the groceries and not wasted so much time.

“Girl that was to much work, all you had to do was call support they would have did a return for you to bring that stuff back to the store and you would have still gotten paid,” user pammy_fromthesip commented.

“Ur supposed to call support…. The reason the phone stopped working is because you completed the order!” another wrote.

Others warned that her behavior could cost her the delivery job.

However, others believed there may be a more nefarious reason why the app sometimes allegedly leaves drivers in strange locations.

“My spark has been dropping me off at random places in the woods as well a few times with no service, and then I’ve been seeing story times on here of it being possible trafficking,” user Courtney_876 wrote.

In a follow-up video, the woman responded that her account remains in good standing and she has not faced any negative repercussions because of that incident.
