Victoria’s Secret Worker Says Man Asked for Help Picking Out Gift for Girlfriend. Then He Asked the Same For His Wife:‘He Made Me Bag Them Separately’

A man hand-picking a gift for their significant other is always seen as an act of love. However, it seems it might be losing its luster very soon, if this former Victoria’s Secret worker is to be believed. According to her, a gift from a lingerie shop might signal a hidden affair.

In the viral TikTok, a former Victoria’s Secret worker claims she regularly saw men shopping for their wives and girlfriends on the same shopping trip.

One customer, she says, carefully picked out items for his girlfriend before asking for help selecting a completely separate set for his wife. Of course, he made sure everything was bagged separately.

But the real twist came from her manager, who allegedly had her own method for dealing with repeat offenders. Now the former employee is urging women to pay closer attention to what’s printed on those receipts, because the contents of the shopping bag may not tell the whole story.

What Happened with this One Victoria Secret Shopper?

Paris’ (@parismwendwa) 75-second clip has earned 5.7 million views and over 980,000 likes. Her text overlay seems to be what attracted everyone to the clip: “Beware if your man gets you a gift from VS (as an ex VS employee).”

She tells women to pay attention to the receipt if they ever receive Victoria’s Secret items as a gift from their partners. Why? It seems Paris learned a trick and now seeks to share her insight with other women. 

Her story begins with her helping a man who needed help picking a gift for his girlfriend’s birthday. Paris helped him choose the pieces in the colors and sizes he wanted.

After putting all the items in a bag, he then says, “OK, now we need to shop for my wife.”

Paris is surprised, but he is non-plussed, and they repeat the same process. This time, she notes that he picks “basically the same things” as he did for the girlfriend, just different colors. She ends up ringing up his items and shares that everything was bagged separately, even the receipts. After he leaves, she goes and tells her manager.

How do Some Victoria’s Secret Employees Deal with Obvious Affairs?

Paris’ manager was not surprised to hear about her experience. Her words were that “whenever that happened,” she would then switch the receipts.

Working at a clothing store, it’s often that women who receive gifts from their significant others come in with the receipt to change sizes that their partner may have gotten wrong. If they do so, then they will eventually realize that the receipt does not match the items they were given.  Paris’ manager hoped that this would lead them to realize that their partner is cheating.

It’s Common in Other Brands Too

The comment section reveals that it’s more than just Victoria’s Secret who’s aware of affairs. A comment with over 53,000 likes states, “This happens at Pandora too.”

Similarly, another jewelry store worker pipes up as well. “As a Swarovski employee, we get this too AND I TOO SWITCH RECEIPTS!!” 

Other viewers are simply stunned.

“‘Whenever I do that’ this happens often??” asks one viewer. Paris replies, “All the time.”

Another ex-worker from Victoria’s Secret confirms the phenomenon, saying, “As an ex manager this is VERY common.”

Many commend the employees. One viewer says, “Smartest move I’ve heard all year.” Another shares, “Your manager is a queen.”

Lastly, one outlier says, “Mind y’all business!!!!” A viewer’s reply gained over 500 likes by simply saying, “Nah.”
