Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, is leveling yet another criticism against him.

In a video that is currently going viral on social media, Mary Trump alleges that Donald Trump inherited a lot of wealth from his parents and lost a significant amount of it. She also accuses Donald Trump of grifting, saying that when he became president, he figured out a way to “leverage” his position to do so.

Citing an example of why she believes Donald Trump is using his position to reap financial benefits, she notes, “He has more money now than he has ever had in his life. He was never a billionaire until now.”

Here’s a throwback to the time Mary Trump gave her verdict on growing up as a Trump, saying: “There was no upside to being part of that family. These were cruel, selfish people who don’t understand love, who don’t have compassion or empathy. I consider myself extremely lucky that I’m not part of that family at all”

He has “basically put out a sign saying ‘I’m for sale’”

Mary Trump added that situations like these should alarm people because, first, no one should have the power to use the presidency to “enrich themselves,” and they should be focusing on being the president of the United States.

Secondly, she notes that the ways Donald Trump and his “useless” children continue to make money are putting the United States’ national security at risk and, by extension, risking the lives of American citizens. The short clip uploaded by @Marco Foster concludes with Mary Trump saying, “When you have a president of the United States who has basically put out a sign saying ‘I’m for sale,’ only bad things can happen.”

An article published by The Guardian on July 1, 2026, highlights that in 2025, Donald Trump’s personal income nearly quadrupled his earnings from his business ventures in 2024. The source notes that most of the gain, estimated at around $2.2 billion, came from cryptocurrency.

The Guardian article includes a quote from the Vice President of Communications for Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a watchdog organization aimed at holding the government accountable to the American people and preserving democratic institutions.

Speaking about Trump’s accumulated wealth in 2025, he says, “In the first term, Donald Trump was bringing in a shocking amount of money, but it all seems small potatoes compared to the amount of money he is bringing in now.”
