Trollhunters Re-Cut to Stranger Things Works Too Well

Recommended Videos

Bikes. A young group of kids who are bullied, but slowly gain confidence. A secret underground world of monsters that’s trapping children. Am I talking about the critically-acclaimed Netflix series Stranger Things? No, I’m talking about the other critically-acclaimed Netflix series, Dreamworks and director Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters.

If you’re not already watching the new animated series, maybe this re-cut trailer will convince you! Gaten Matarazzo, who you’ll probably recognize as Stranger Things’ Dustin even gives his approval at the end. Fans of the Upside Down in Hawkins housing the Demogorgon would probably find a similar kind of delight in the underground world of the Arcadia trolls as our protagonist balances both monster fighting and algebra homework.

Trollhunters is funny and magical, but also manages to be truly terrifying and dark at the same time in a way that I think makes this mashup perfect. Have you been watching Trollhunters? What do you think about this combination?
