‘The Pitt’ season 2 teaser finally gave me what I wanted

I loved the first season of The Pitt. But as a Pittsburgh girl, there were some aspects of the show that I criticized. Like having the one nurse who is from Pittsburgh say “yous” and not “yinz.” Bunch of jagoffs.

Now, the teaser for season 2 of the hit HBO Max series has given me a bit of what I wanted and I thank you for listening to my Pittsburgh pleas. Our first look at season 2, which is still being filmed, includes a glimpse at Dr. Langon (Patrick Ball). And what is on his head? A Pittsburgh Penguins hat. Thank you, the Gods of The Pitt.

Look, I understand that this probably doesn’t matter to most everyone else but it is important to me that my city is represented accordingly. There are very few places you can go while in Pittsburgh without seeing some kind of sports shirt or hat. It is just who we are as people. I forgave the dad in season 1 who wore a Steelers shirt with a plaid over it (no one does that) and I’ll allow the one kid’s blanket. But we LOVE our teams. There should be more!

Whether The Pitt took my request at a “yinz” drop in there remains to be seen.

What we know about season 2 is that the show will take place during the Fourth of July holiday and is set to release on HBO Max in January. Nothing like fireworks for the New Year, right? With everyone back in the ER together, it is exciting to see what Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) and his team are up to. But I also just really love how this short teaser broke us.

Me seeing that Penguins hat made me feel renewed and restored because it is all I was missing from this show. So if The Pitt season 2 ends up with more Pittsburgh references? Watch out, I’ll be insufferable.
