The official trailer for Ocean’s 8 has arrived, and it’s everything you could’ve hoped for from the fact that Cate Blanchett’s Lou drives a motorcycle and wear snazzy suits to Sandra Bullock’s Debbie Ocean’s revenge plot hinted at in yesterday’s teaser.
In the trailer, we get some glimpses at Bullock assembling her team of talented women in order to target the New York Met Gala. These 8 come from all sorts of backgrounds, not unlike the original Ocean’s, and I can’t wait to see what the group dynamic is like with house-wife Sarah Paulson, street rapscallion Awkwafina, hacker Rihanna, and more. So far, I already I love the scene of Awkwafina returning stolen watches to a gentle “It’s ok”, and Paulson meeting with Bullock in a Costco.
The Met Gala setting also means we’re going to get some glamorous and amazing moments like this:
Are you screaming in joy? I sure am. With this amazing cast—Bullock, Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Paulson, and Awkwafina—Ocean’s 8 is the female heist movie I’ve been waiting for my whole life.
