Texas parents allege their 5-year-old was inappropriately touched at school. Then catch principal laughing about ‘crazy’ parents on voicemail
The principal laughed with a colleague.

Parents of a five-year-old alleged that their daughter was being inappropriately touched by a fellow student at school. But when they reported the incident to school authorities, the principal supposedly just laughed at the parents’ concerns. Now, the parents said they have lost trust in the school district leadership.
Parents Molly and Pablo Rucker made a report to Grand Oaks Elementary School officials in Tomball, Texas, on Sept. 25, alleging that their young daughter was touched inappropriately by another student while in her classroom, per Fox 26. The parents initially hoped to get answers directly from officials, but a voicemail left by the principal only made the Ruckers’ concerns grow.
On TikTok, Pablo shared the recording of the voicemail left by principal Heather Myers. The voicemail seemed standard, with Myers calling to schedule a Title IX meeting with a coordinator. However, Myers seemingly failed to disconnect the call at the end, allowing the parents to hear what she said afterwards.
Texas parents heartbroken by the incident
“Her parents are crazy and my sympathetic voice kind of goes away,” Myers said in the voicemail. She and a colleague can be heard laughing in the background, with the other woman responding, “Yeah, I agree.”
Myers’ comments reportedly left the family deeply concerned about the school’s response to student safety following the allegations. With the way Myers supposedly handled the issue, Molly said she was grateful that she taught her daughter about her body and knowing when she is being inappropriately touched.
“It’s really hard to have trust in the system and the teachers,” Molly told Fox 26. “Because at this point I don’t know if I would have found out.”
Pablo, on the other hand, was heartbroken by the incident and questioned campus leadership. “My daughter came to y’all with something that happened to her, in good faith that y’all were going to do your job,” Pablo said. “I just wanted my daughter to feel safe. With the current administration, I don’t feel like she’s safe or any parent’s child is actually safe under [Myers’] care.”
The Ruckers have since withdrawn their daughter from the school and are arranging counseling services for her. The family stated that they have no intention of allowing their daughter to return to Grand Oaks Elementary School while the current administration remains in place.
Laughing principal put on administrative leave
Pablo’s video garnered over 2.2 million views on the platform, drawing significant attention to the incident. On Sept. 28, Tomball ISD released a statement to parents and revealed that Myers had been placed on administrative leave, describing the principal’s actions as “unprofessional” and “do not reflect the professional standards we expect of our staff.”
“Upon review of specific allegations, the campus acted swiftly and immediately launched an investigation and reported findings of the investigation on the same day,” Tomball ISD said. “Tomball ISD continues to be committed to the safety and well-being of every student at all times, and all steps pertaining to investigating the circumstances were followed in accordance with district policies and procedures.”
Tomball ISD said school operations will resume as normal in light of the principal’s absence. There would also be an increase in presence from the Precinct 4 Constables Department “as additional reassurance to our community.”
At a Title IX meeting held on Sept. 29, representatives from the People’s Choice Association joined the Ruckers in questioning whether investigations into the serious concerns should be handled by campus officials before imploring the district to implement student safety measures after reviewing its procedures. An associate superintendent reportedly apologized to the family on the district’s behalf.
Meanwhile, Myers has 16 years of experience in education and joined Grand Oaks Elementary School this year. She previously served as the principal of Wayne C. Schultz Junior High.
