Supergirl Exec Producer, Ali Adler, Reveals Superman’s Role On the Show

What do Charlie Brown's teacher and the President on Veep have in common?

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Supergirl Executive Producer, Ali Adler, reveals how Kara’s cousin, Kal-El (aka Superman), will be included in the new CBS show.

As reported by Comic Book Resources, Adler says:

Our prototype is the way the President is seen on Veep. [referring to the way that Veep often refers to but rarely shows the president] It’s certainly [inspired by] so much of what Julia-Louis Dreyfus’ character goes through. Ultimately, this is a show about Supergirl and we really want to see it through her lens.

So never fear. While the original Man of Steel will have a role to play on CBS’ Supergirl, that role won’t detract from the main attraction – Kara Zor-El. I mean, Danvers.

To tide you over until then, check out this new version of the Supergirl trailer!

A brand-new #Supergirl preview just when you need it the most. Let Kara save your day.
