Supergirl Poised to Help the Arrow-verse Fight Off A Huge Threat In Crossover Event, “Invasion”

We’ve been waiting for what has felt like forever, but finally the Arrow-verse crossover is imminent! Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have details on how Supergirl will be introduced to her new CW compatriots! **Possible spoilers ahead**

Supergirl is recruited by Barry Allen, A.K.A. The Flash, to join him and his fellow heroes in fighting off a…wait for it…alien invasion. While Kara is totally used to dealing with aliens (and the sentiments against them) in her universe, this is an unprecedented threat for The Flash, The Green Arrow, and all the Legends of Tomorrow. It’ll be interesting to see what Supergirl brings to the table as both an alien herself, and as someone who knows the extent to which aliens and humans can co-exist, or be threats to each other.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, her introductory scene goes down like this: “The scene finds the various heroes — including Green Arrow and Spartan, aka John Diggle — assembled in STAR Labs’ aeronautics facility. As Barry introduces Kara, Oliver and Diggle aren’t terribly impressed. However, once she displays her power of flight, Diggle quickly changes his mind, saying, ‘I’m convinced.'”

Despite Green Arrow and Supergirl being great friends in animated versions of the characters, it seems that this live-action Oliver Queen will greet her with a reaction that’s as icy as the Fortress of Solitude, according to a video interview Stephen Amell did with EW. We already kind of guessed their relationship would be a bit contentious based on The CW’s recent “fight club” videos, what with Kara being a ray of sunshine and Oliver being…Oliver. But it’ll be cool to watch that develop. Maybe she can help him brood a little less after she helps them take on the aliens.

The crossover event, “Invasion,” happens this month!
