‘So…. Elon?’: Looks like Trump has a wealthy ‘donor’ friend who could help amidst the government shutdown, but there might be a catch

After a Gilmore Girls reunion, is it time for an Elon Musk and Donald Trump reunion? The former best friends have been fighting for months over conflicting opinions. However, it appears they have made up, especially under the pretext of helping each other out (more like saving each other’s backs).

As the United States Government remains in a state of shutdown for a second week, and several workers remain furloughed, some workers in essential departments are still expected to carry out their responsibilities without getting paid. Among them are the military, which Donald Trump has time and again weaponised against the Democrats and the American people.

This time, it is no different. In multiple rallies and congregations, the Dorito Dictator has been promising the troops their salaries during the shutdown and luring them with pay hikes and promotions, all while spewing an anti- Democratic narrative.

While the past couple of weeks, Trump’s promises seemed empty, this time he is making bolder claims. Without naming names, he insists that this “very wealthy” friend offered to pay for the troops if needed, but Trump refused for the time being, citing the availability of funds. “A donor, a great gentleman, and he said, ‘If there’s any money necessary, shortfall, for the paying of the troops, then I will pay it,’ meaning he will pay it,” Trump said, talking about this person.

As videos of Trump speaking about this “gentleman” gained momentum online, many were quick to deduce that he was speaking of his long-lost friend in desperation, Elon Musk. “So…. Elon?”, one person on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, as others also shared similar views. Many also debated the outcomes of the friendship, highlighting that Musk would want something in return.

“What does this wealthy gentleman want in return?” one person wrote. “60 minutes in a tank in the desert with the freedom to do whatever he wants,” wrote another person as the rest continued to deliberate on the matter.
