As if last night’s mind-blowing season finale revelation wasn’t enough, now Star Wars Rebels fans are due for another shock—Buffy the Vampire Slayer herself is joining the voice cast as an undisclosed character. Does the Star Wars universe have, like, a race of space vampires? Because that would be pretty ironic.
The news broke earlier today courtesy of The Holywood Reporter, and Sarah Michele Gellar later confirmed it on her own social media accounts.

Her husband Freddy Prinze Jr., who’s already on the show and will return next season, replied that “Her Kanan voice is no joke!” Awww. You two.
“We’re thrilled to have Sarah Michelle Gellar on board for season two. She is a true Star Wars Rebels fan and her passion undoubtedly comes through in the voice recording sessions,” Dave Filoni, the executive producer and supervising director, said in the announcement. She’s a fan? Get out of town, that’s adorable. I mean, I guess she kind of has to be for marital reasons, but still.
Details about her role are being kept under wraps, which is great because now we basically get to write Star Wars/Buffy crossover fanfics as much as we want until the series returns for Season 2. What kind of part would you like to see Sarah Michelle Gellar play?
