Listen, the “travel ban” that Donald Trump’s administration was, then wasn’t, then was referring to as a ban is intended to be the “Muslim ban” that Donald Trump proposed way back on the campaign trail—it’s just the most legally defensible version of that idea. That makes the excuse that its sloppy rollout was due to the element of surprise a little far fetched, considering Trump “telegraphed” that he’d do this way back in December of 2015.
So, here’s Samantha Bee to tear apart the shitshow that went down as a result of callousness, incompetence, or some unholy combination of the two.
As a bonus, here she is also reminding us of how refugee bans, and our country’s history with them, aren’t strength, but shameful cowardice:
