Countless artists have given the world their view of Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland books but did you know Salvador Dalí did an entire series inspired by them? In fact, he did one for each chapter of the book. Here’s a sampling of our favorites.

Published in a book by New York’s Maecenas Press-Random House in 1969, the volume contains 12 heliogravures and one original signed etching in 4 colors as the frontpiece.

Advice From a Caterpillar

The Queen’s Croquet Ground

Down the Rabbit Hole

My personal favorite, A Caucus Race and a Long Tale

The Mock Turtle’s Story

And last but not least, one with that certain Dalí charm, Mad Tea Party.

Brainpickings says, “As you might expect, the book isn’t exactly easy to acquire — Amazon currently spots just a single copy, handsomely priced at $12,900.” There’s also a YouTube video letting you know what to look for if you’re in the market for one. How about some nice reproductions, guys?
