Lets see, we know we’ve been promised or seen hints of a number of Marvel television shows, including the Hulk and a few other properties, but Frank Castle? Haven’t heard much talk about bringing the Punisher back to screens in a while.

Until last night, when Fox announced that it will be producing a pilot for an hour long procedural series starring Frank Castle as a New York police officer who moonlights as the vigilante known as the Punisher.

Says Deadline:

This marks the first sale this season and the first one ever outside of ABC for Disney-owned Marvel, which is developing TV series based on its properties through ABC Studios. Last season, the company set up Hulk with Guillermo del Toro and David Eick and AKA Jessica Jones with Melissa Rosenberg at ABC.

Punisher joins the Spectre as a superhero series in development at Fox, a character from rival company DC. Edward Bernero, a writer, producer, and director on Criminal Minds and Third Watch is spearheading the pilot himself.

She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
