Pennsylvania Woman Dated Her Boyfriend For a Year. Someone Spotted Him at HomeGoods with Another Girl. He Married Her Best Friend: 'They Deserve Each Other'

Not all stories end with a happily ever after. Natalie (@hottgirlseatpickles) thought everything was going as it should with her boyfriend, who she’s been dating for a year. She moved to Arkansas with him and even had a dog with him. But then, a sorority sister spotted him going out with Natalie’s bestfriend at HomeGoods.

“Storytime about how my ex-boyfriend and my ex-bestfriend are engaged to be married right after we broke up,” Natalie shared on TikTok. The video has since gone viral at over 6.1 million views. To shield the identities of the parties involved, Natalie used fake names in her story.

She started by saying that she’d broken up with her boyfriend at the beginning of January after one year of dating and living together. Natalie and her bestfriend had a lengthy relationship, as they’d been together for five to six years.

“I would’ve considered her my sister,” Natalie commented on the friendship. She even claimed to be close with her ex-bestfriend’s parents.

Pretending to be a girl’s girl

Towards the end of last year, Natalie had plans to visit her mother in Pennsylvania for the holidays. She and her boyfriend also thought about visiting New York City for plans of their own. But because they were having problems, he decided not to go.

Natalie brought her bestfriend along instead, visiting her family together and going to New York City. It’s basically a girls’ trip, and Natalie began opening up to her bestfriend about her relationship problems with her boyfriend.

The bestfriend said that Natalie should break up with the man, telling her that she deserved better than him. She even hinted to Natalie that her boyfriend might not be ready for further commitment. Thinking of it as friendly and supportive advice, Natalie braced herself for what was to come.

When she went back to Arkansas, the breakup happened. By mid-January, she packed her things and moved in with a friend. Throughout this time, Natalie’s best friend was by her side, consoling her and coaching her on what to do next. Going through the breakup, Natalie was trying to look up, saying she was “excited to have a hot girl summer.” The best friend told her that she was happy for Natalie to be single again because her ex was “terrible” to her.

They’d already broken up by February, but they got stuck in the same house after a snowstorm hit Arkansas. Natalie asked her ex if he was seeing another girl, and he swore he wasn’t. But she noticed that he was getting uncomfortable leading up to Valentine’s Day.

He turned off his location, and she got curious. So, she tried calling him, asking him if he wants her to leave him alone for the night. Since he didn’t respond, Natalie called her bestfriend. Again, her bestfriend consoled her, saying, “I’m so sorry.”

The ex eventually confessed to seeing another girl shortly after their breakup. He said he’s been talking to her for a week. After a while, her bestfriend also started getting distant. Natalie eventually moved back to Pennsylvania with her parents to leave the mess behind.

Busted at HomeGoods

For the longest time, Natalie was being told by her bestfriend that her boyfriend isn’t attractive. She simply didn’t like him, and her boyfriend thought Natalie was “outgoing”—he wasn’t fond of her behavior either. Natalie thought that the ick was mutual.

Until she received a call from a friend, saying that an old sorority sister spotted her ex and bestfriend shopping together at HomeGoods. It doesn’t seem like people who hate each other would be shopping at HomeGoods.

Natalie confronted both of them through text, and the bestfriend apologized, saying, “It was never supposed to happen.” She never got an explanation from either of them, and Natalie recently found out that they’re now engaged this June. Natalie broke up with him in January—needless to say, the relationship developed very quickly.

Natalie gained not one, but two exes from this situation. She speaks to neither of them, still grossed out by the situation.

“If people can do that to someone, then they deserve each other,” Natalie said. “I wish them nothing but blessings,” she added.

TikTok was outraged by the story, with some snooping around to check who the mystery couple might be. Others said, “May this friendship never find me.” But many also sent their supportive messages, saying it’s a “blessing in disguise.”

Some even compared Natalie’s bestfriend to Cassie from Euphoria. Despite her chaotic story, Natalie warned TikTok not to send hate to the new couple. She said that she doesn’t want to “repay negative behavior with hate.”
