Pacific Rim Explains How Robots Work, We Nod

A good friend of mine, who is equally excited for Pacific Rim as I am, pointed out that the Jaeger pilot system doesn’t exactly make a whole lot of sense: it hardly seems like two pilots who have to maintain a very deep emotional link would actually be the most efficient solution to the problem. However, we don’t care, because it’s the rare plot device that actually makes the story more compelling than it complicates things. It’s a brilliant literal core of emotion at the heart of a literal giant, mindless metal beast.

So metal. So meta.
