Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt Are Awake and Afraid in Official Passengers Trailer

It's gonna be a long ride.

It’s finally here. The first trailer for Passengers, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt, has made its way to the interwebs and it looks promising. The story follows a group of people on a 120 year journey to a colony planet far away. A pod malfunction causes two of them two awake up 90 years early and now, alone and afraid, they must figure out how to survive. Even worse, catastrophe strikes and now all lives on board are in danger.

Think Rocketman, but without the physical comedy.  Remember that film starring Harland Williams? Astronauts were trying to reach Mars and had to replace one of their top men with an idiotic scientist who dreamed of going to space as a kid? He wakes up months ahead of when they’re supposed to land and spends the rest of the time creating ceiling art out of food.

So, yeah, Passengers seems like the unfunny version of that except they’re not going to Mars and it’s on a much larger scale. Plus, they’ve got Michael Sheen as a robot bartender. Everybody needs a Michael Sheen robot bartender.

If that seems enticing, plan a trip to the theater on December 21.
