‘Nobody Behind You Gets to Move’: Customer Calls Out ‘Karen’ Who Blocked the Drive-Thru Lane So She Could Yell at Culver’s Staff
Nowadays the term “Karen” gets thrown around a lot; it’s gotten to the point where just standing up for yourself can get you labeled as one. In this day and age, it’s important to remember what, exactly, a Karen is. A person can get called a Karen for any number of reasons, but usually it’s used to refer to someone who is entitled and demanding. A perfect example would be a Culver’s customer who recently held up the drive-thru lane to berate the workers.
Footage of the woman being confronted by another customer who had been patiently waiting for their food was shared on TikTok. As she walks out of the establishment, the man calls out to her, “Hey, I hope it was worth holding everybody up so you can harass some people in there.” The woman, initially taken aback by the comment, begins to argue with the man.
The woman denies harassing anyone in the Culver’s, but the man replies, “They’re food workers! I heard you yelling in there instead of waiting in your car like a normal person!” As she walks away, the person recording points out that she made all the other customers wait, yelling after her, “Now nobody behind you gets to move, nice job, Karen!”
She could have pulled forward
The confrontation continues as the woman returns, and the man tells her she could have pulled forward, allowing the rest of the customers waiting behind her to get their food. “You have to wait like everybody else!” the man shouts. “What makes you so entitled that you need to get your food before everybody else, Karen?”
It’s unclear exactly how long the rest of the customers were waiting behind the woman’s parked car, but evidently it was long enough to enrage the person recording enough to call the woman’s behavior out and publicly put her on blast.
Commenters on TikTok agreed with the man’s decision to do so, and many commended him for calling out the “Karen’s” behavior. “Normalize calling people out on being dicks to service and retail workers,” wrote one person. “People need to call Karen’s out more often. it’s so satisfying,” wrote another.
Other commenters called the woman out for harassing food workers. “And Culver’s employees are angels,” claimed one. “All over Culver’s food,” another quipped. Dealing with tricky customers in the drive-thru lane is all a part of the job, but there’s a line, and anyone who crosses that line runs the risk of getting stuck with the label of an entitled “Karen” for the rest of their days.
