The striations of color and type revealed by erosion in the walls of the Grand Canyon have long been held up as the Earth version of the same striations in the slopes of Mount Sharp (more formally known as Aeolis Mons). But now that NASA scientists have taken the first snap shots with Curiosity’s long-range camera, they’re actually surprised by just how similar the two formations appear to be.
Just another series of photographs from Curiosity showing us a wonderful subversion of expectation: the alien… as the familiar.
Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
