Missouri Man Finds a Screaming Boy in the Middle of the Road. He Helped in the Funniest Way Possible: ‘You’re Not Dead!’

Biking, falling, and getting a scrape are a part of childhood. So when a child from a neighborhood in Missouri started screaming for dear life, Dondon (@dondonstarrz), a passerby, was alerted by the wailing. He checked and found out that the boy fell from the bike. Dondon seemed exasperated, but what he did next warmed the hearts of social media users on TikTok.
Dondon was supposed to tell a different story on TikTok until he was distracted by a screech from down the road.
“Okay, we get it,” he said on the video as the boy screamed long and loud while lying in the middle of the street. The boy was dab-smack in the middle, and he could get hit by a passing vehicle.
“Should I go and help him?” Dondon second-guessed, but the boy was still screaming on the pavement. “I’m going to go grab my gun so I can walk down there real quick and help this boy,” he decided.
While he was walking, the boy was still wailing—as if he’d been mortally wounded. It’s possible that he broke a bone or sprained a body part.
“Yeah, I don’t want in the house, and I can’t walk towards him, and his a** still screaming,” he said, recording the entire interaction. “It’s not funny. But the dramatics of it all, baby! You’re not even trying to get up.”
He may have sounded harsh, but all it takes for a tragedy to happen is a speeding vehicle. If the boy is injured, it will take time for him to get up and dodge.
He wasn’t having any of the drama
“He’s not even attempting to get up,” Dondon commented. “I don’t feel safe around this neighborhood anymore,” he added. Apparently, his dog got attacked prior to the video. But also, Dondon felt uncomfortable that there is a boy screaming in the middle of the road, and no neighbor has come out to help.
“You’re not dead! Stop laying there like that,” Dondon said, seemingly annoyed by the screaming. Despite his rough approach, he appeared to be the only person willing to help the wailing boy. Upon a closer look, the boy’s slipper was off.
“It’s going to be okay, though,” the man said with a calmer tone. Dondon was trying his best not to laugh. He asked if the boy thinks any of his limbs are broken. But hilariously, Dondon assessed, “I don’t think so.”
When he finally got close enough, he found out that the boy wasn’t bleeding.
“I’m feeling my ear!” The boy sulked.
“It’s ’cause you fell,” Dondon said.
“I want my mom!” The boy cried even louder, but Dondon was focused on getting him back up and helping him put his shoes back on.
“You okay, I promise you okay,” he reassured the boy. Dondon kept calm and even asked if the boy knew how to get back home. He then advised the fallen biker to walk and not to bike his way home.
The ‘meanest’ nice person on TikTok
“You a big, strong boy. You got it, you gonna fall sometimes,” he said. Dondon, who initially looked annoyed, turned out to be patient enough with the boy. He even told the boy not to ride his bike too fast the next time so that he doesn’t trip over the next time. With a bit of help, the boy stopped wailing and was able to walk home.
TikTok users couldn’t help but praise Dondon. One comment reads, “All that hooting and hollering he just wanted to be seen and heard. You did an amazing job with him, though.”
Another wrote, “I love mean-nice people.” Because Dondon may have come in with a sprinkle of sassiness, but he came in clutch to help the boy get up and get back home—all without laughing at the situation.
