Thor and Captain America in Age of Ultron

Which Marvel Actress Just Confirmed She’ll Be In Avengers: Age of Ultron?

There’s some serious mental flailing going on in Casa Rebecca. Needless to say, there are spoilers behind the cut.

Drumroll please… Hayley Atwell, Agent Carter if ya nasty, confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that she will be in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The actress explained that she and Ultron director Joss Whedon “went out drinking one night and he was like ‘You know, it would be great to write something for you.’ And I was like, ‘Yes, Joss, it would! It would be amazing!’”

Potential spoilers for a specific Age of Ultron scene beyond this point.

Carter’s appearance has been rumored before; a few months back she was spotted with Chris Evans on what looked like an old-fashioned dance hall set, complete with “Lindy Hop dancing” extras. That indicates the scene is set in the ‘40s. But Paul Bettany, who plays The Vision, was there too. So… time travel? Or something? Obviously at this point it’s impossible to say to what extent or in what capacity Carter will be appearing in Ultron, whether it’ll be a flashback or a present-day older Peggy like the one in The Winter Soldier or what. Whedon even wrote, in his words, a “beautiful and poignant scene between Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter” for The Avengers that had to be cut because it was “killing the rhythm.” Nothing is ever certain, except Tumblr losing its mind over Bucky Barnes.

Regardless, between this news and Agent Carter airing (probably) in the winter, I am geared up for All the Peggy Carter.
