Mark Ruffalo Throws His Support Behind Abdul El-Sayed After the Candidate Turned His MAGA Opponent’s Name Into a Punchline
Mark Ruffalo says Abdul El-Sayed is "undeniable", thinks MAGA opponent in for rough Senate race.
Newly minted Democratic nominee for Michigan Senate race Abdul El-Sayed is making some pointed remarks about his opponent, Republican nominee Mike Rogers, and he is getting a seal of approval from none other than Mark “Hulk” Ruffalo.
Ruffalo sharing a video from Sayed’s recent campaign rally after his primary win, wrote, “It’s going to be a long election season for Mike “roger that” Rogers. Abdul is undeniable.”
In the short clip, Sayed addressed Rogers’ repeated mispronunciation of this name and told him to keep it out of his “damn” mouth if he couldn’t say it properly. In the same breath, he also asked Rogers to just call him “Abdul” he’s truly incapable of saying it correctly.
“It’s going to be a long election season for Mike “roger that” Rogers.”
Sayed added that he had some opinions about Rogers’ name and said that it was “very fitting” for him, noting that “that’s his answer” every time “a corporation or Donald Trump tells him to do something.” Giving an example of how that would work in real time, Sayed said, “‘Mike, we need you to put a data center in the backyard.’ Roger!”
Continuing his “Rogers” digs, Sayed said, “‘Mike, we need you to hide their prescription drug prices.’ Roger. ‘Mike, we need you to rubber-stamp this war we shouldn’t be fighting.’ Roger. ‘Mike, (this one’s Donald Trump), I need you to lick these boots.’ Roger.”
As he briefly paused his roast of Mike Rogers, the crowd cheered and chanted his name. Sayed continued: “I think I speak for all of us here in Michigan when I say that we are done with Rogers. Go back to Florida, where you belong.”
On Saturday, Trump took to Truth Social to post a picture of himself with the First Lady, Melania Trump, wearing formal clothing and, beside it, a picture of Abdul El-Sayed with his wife, psychiatrist Dr. Sarah Jukaku, wearing a hijab. Highlighting a contrast between the two photographs, Trump wrote in the caption, “Two VERY DIFFERENT Americas.”
During an interview with CNN on Sunday, when Sayed was asked about Trump’s post, he said he agreed with it. He added, “One in which your overlords are two people who don’t like each other, but joined in the interest of making billions of dollars off of you or two people who genuinely love each other, enjoyed some pancakes together, want to come together to build the kind of America where they can raise a family and know that that family is going to have the good things.”
This isn’t the first time Trump has bullied someone online. Famously, he branded his once best friend, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene as a “traitor” and deemed fellow Republican Thomas Massie to be “weak and pathetic”.
