Man asks help from hardware store to hide two bodies. The employee agrees and offers him shovels

Man on TikTok asks help to dispose of two bodies to a hardware store employee. The employee agrees and offers him disturbing tips.

Jake Cherry (@jakecherryyy on TikTok) approached a hardware store employee for help to dispose of a couple of bodies. Instead of turning Jake away, the man offered him a shovel and gave him “tips” on how to get away with his crime.

“Do you know what type of boards I’ll need to cover two bodies?” Jake approached an old man who appears to be working at the hardware store. Although this is definitely an alarming question for anyone to ask, Jake is notorious for stirring up random and outlandish conversations with people and posting them on TikTok.

“Well, I’m going to try to find a couple for you,” said the man, who was holding a saw. When he asked for Jake’s name, Jake lied and said his name was ‘Rigatoni.’

Who would’ve thought the next theoretical serial killer would be named after pasta instead of cereal? This is besides the point, though, because the man kept helping Jake anyway.

Jake explained he needed to get some “dirty work” done without context. The man continued, “Well, you just need some cover to cover the body. Let me know if you need some help. I’ll get you some shovels on.”

Jake asked, “You got experience?” The man agreed nonchalantly. He even suggested that Jake “throw some lime” down with the bodies to get rid of the odor and to cover it all up with concrete.

When Jake asked if odor leaks through concrete, the man confidently said, “Oh no, concrete seals everything.” But the lime, according to the man, isn’t just for getting rid of the odor. He said that calcium carbonate compounds can dissolve the body.

TikTok creates joke theories about saw man

But the man and Jake couldn’t hold the sketchy character for too long, and both of them eventually broke into laughter. Needless to say, there were no crimes done in the making of Jake’s TikTok video. The man did suggest he could theoretically “saw those legs off.” If he wasn’t laughing, TikTok would be terrified, since he was holding a saw and cutting wood.

Some of them joked that the saw man was probably moving like Dexter during his prime. Another comment reads that this was not the employee’s “first rodeo.” If he kept his brows creased, the internet probably wouldn’t be laughing at this interaction.

But there’s no need to fret. The man is probably no master of crime—just an employee that knows how to take a joke during a slow day at work. Besides, his tips on dissolving the body probably won’t work in real life.

Can bodies be dissolved with lime?

A study published in the National Library of Medicine showed that quicklime and hydrated lime can delay decay up to six months. It doesn’t dissolve the body—rather, putting quicklime preserves the body. Moreover, quicklime also doesn’t successfully conceal the putrefactive odors released by a decomposing body. If a dog were to go sniffing down Jake’s basement, it would still catch on the stench of death.

Putting quicklime aside, even concrete will leak scents because it’s a porous material. If a body were theoretically placed in a container with concrete, the smell would still leak out.

Dexter andWhat does this have to do with the saw man from TikTok? All this suggests that he’s most likely not a real-life Dexter and that there’s no true crime documentary in the making here.
