Makeup store manager from Texas received a man’s strange request to learn how to do makeup. He did it for ‘true love’
If he wanted to, he would.
Brittney Marleen (@sortaspookymom) from Texas was formerly a manager for a makeup store. She has shared many of her wild customer encounters online. However, Brittney couldn’t forget about one male customer who asked her to teach him how to do makeup.
“I had a man come in, and he asked me to help teach him how to do a whole face of makeup,” Brittney told TikTok. She recalled that the man, unlike most male customers she encountered, was eagerly asking for help.
“I approach him, and his face lights up,” she said. Brittney asked him if he needed help finding a product. The man told her he had a “strange” request.
“I have never, ever done makeup before a day in my life, but I need somebody to teach me to do a full face of makeup,” Brittney recalled the man’s words. She claimed that he sounded chipper about the request. Brittney followed up, asking the man if it was for a special event. The man started cackling.
“It’s not for me. I’m not doing makeup on myself. I need to learn to do makeup on another person,” the man supposedly told Brittney. From that response, Brittney assumed the man wanted to be a pro makeup artist (MUA). She asked if he was taking clients, and the man clarified his intentions.

He wasn’t training to be an MUA. The man told Brittney that his wife got into a car accident. She survived, and he was glad she did. However, his wife couldn’t hold things or keep her hands still anymore. Because she no longer has control of her hands, she couldn’t wear makeup like she used to.
“I always think she’s beautiful, but I want her to feel beautiful. And the only thing I can think of is… I need to learn how to do makeup,” the man supposedly said. After hearing his story, Brittney agreed to teach him. She tried telling him how to blend products on his hand but said it wasn’t sinking in for him.
“I grab a makeup wipe, and I take all of my makeup off,” Brittney said. She figured that the best way to teach him was to let him use the products on her face. Brittney did one half of her face, and she let the man practice on the other half. She said there were a couple of times that she had to wipe off bronzer and make him try again, but Brittney sat there and let him learn.
“My makeup looked cute, okay? Homeboy did a great job,” Brittney said, recalling the result of their crash course session. The man ended up buying all the products she taught him to use. He checked out and thanked Brittney for the lesson. A month went by, and the man returned to the store.
He eagerly showed Brittney photos of his wife, with him as her makeup artist. Brittney said she looked happy and beautiful in those photos. The man thanked Brittney again for her guidance. She commented, “Working at a makeup store, you don’t have the expectation of this, like, type of interaction happening.” Brittney said it was “the most beautiful display of true love” she encountered at the store. But while some people will do a lot out of love, this woman from South Carolina even got the CDC involved in her revenge.
