Husband gets late-night calls from a local number. Wife asks her friend to text the caller, then discovers he’s husband’s estranged sister’s husband

@cassdamm has a very unusual story she’s sharing on her TikTok, and it’s sure to entertain many. Just two days ago, Cass uploaded a video talking about how her husband received a “bunch of calls” from an unknown number and asked her if she knew who was calling.
Cass decided to find out who the person was, and as she investigated, she discovered that the number was from her husband’s hometown and was a prepaid account. Realizing she might get into trouble, she asked a friend for help. The friend texted the unknown caller for a day, leading to the wildest discovery about the caller’s identity.
TikTok user @cassdamm uncovered the mystery of the unknown caller
In her latest TikTok, @cassdamm explained that when her husband got a series of missed calls at 2 a.m., he asked her if she knew who was calling. She didn’t recognize the number, but her “nosy” nature compelled her to find out. She launched a “hunt” to trace the number, and discovered it was a prepaid phone bought at a shop in her husband’s hometown. She realized she couldn’t track down the owner directly, so she asked her friend Caroline to message the number and gather details.
Caroline, who lives in a different state, spent a day chatting with the caller just to find out his name and get a picture. After receiving the photo, Cass showed it to her husband, who said he’d never seen the person before. Cass then reverse image searched the photo on Google and found it was linked to a gay hookup site in her husband’s hometown. She questioned her husband about whether he had anything to confess, but he denied it. Later, Cass showed the photo to her husband’s niece, who still lives in her husband’s hometown, and asked if she knew him. To everyone’s surprise, she did. Turns out he was the husband of Cass’s husband’s estranged sister’s husband (who Cass considered was gay since they were texting her husband).

Possibility of people within the LGBTQIA+ community using dating sites is high
According to an article published by Pew Research Center on June 26, 2023, “Lesbian, gay and bisexual Americans are far more likely than those who are straight to say they have ever used a dating site or app (51% vs. 28%).” This includes 13% of lesbian, gay, and bisexual adults who are currently active on online dating websites, 11% who have used these apps in the past year, and 27% who used one more than a year ago at the time of the survey.
People in the LGBTQIA+ community have diverse experiences with dating websites. According to the same Pew Research Center article mentioned earlier, a majority of lesbian, gay, and bisexual adults who have used online dating platforms (61%) report their experiences as positive overall. This sentiment is shared by 64% of men and 56% of women. However, most lesbian, gay, and bisexual users who have used these platforms in the past year feel excited (85%) but also disappointed (84%) by the people they meet there. Additionally, some online dating users within these groups face negative behaviors; about one-third or more report receiving unsolicited sexually explicit messages (56%), experiencing continued contact after expressing disinterest (42%), or being called offensive names (33%).
