Los Angeles Woman Woke Up at 7 a.m. for a Braiding Appointment. Then, Her Braider Walked Out on Her 'Peace and Blessings, I'm Tired.'

Not all hair appointments go as planned. Some people spend hundreds of dollars only to end up with the wrong shade of hair color. Others, like Olivia (@ayeeeitsliv), have their hairstylist sleep on them in the middle of a braiding appointment.

Olivia, from Los Angeles, said she got up for a braiding appointment scheduled at seven in the morning. Then, she supposedly received a message from her unnamed stylist, asking Olivia to push the appointment back to 7:30 a.m. because she was “tired.” She wanted to accommodate the stylist, so agreed to delay.

“Admittedly, was I ten minutes late? Yes, I was, but I was driving all the way from North Hollywood to Inglewood,” Olivia said in her defense. Nevertheless, she made it to the braider’s place. The lady was already bringing the hair out of the pack and preparing for the appointment.

Braiding appointment gone wrong

“I was in and out of sleep during this appointment because I woke up for a 7 a.m. appointment, okay? And I started to see some of the parts were looking a little wonky,” Olivia alleged. She showed some of her half-done braids on camera, which she said were already redone. Even in its supposed final form, they still looked unfinished.

In the middle of the session, she asked her braider to redo some of her braids because she didn’t like how they looked. The braider seemingly agreed, then Olivia went back to sleep. Moments later, she woke up from her second nap and read a notification from her phone.

“Peace and blessings, I’m tired,” her braider allegedly wrote through text. Her stylist was nowhere to be found, leaving Olivia confused by the situation.

“She proceeds to step back, and flop on her couch in her house,” Olivia further alleged. She said that her braider went to sleep on the couch, and this was all in the middle of the braiding session. It’s not uncommon for some clients to fall asleep during a salon session as they’d trust their stylist to continue the job. As long as they aren’t overcharged for the wrong hair, it isn’t usually a cause for concern.

“I sit there for about five minutes in complete shock and awe, okay?” Olivia said, appalled that her stylist left without her hair finished. She got up and shook her stylist awake.

“I literally have to shake this woman because she’s not waking up,” Olivia claimed. She said she took photos and a video of her sleeping stylist for evidence. Nevertheless, Olivia has not yet posted them on her TikTok. When the stylist finally woke up, Olivia said she was going to leave the braiding appointment. The braider insisted that she stay so that she could redo her client’s hair.

“No, I’m going to leave,” Olivia pushed back. Despite the mishap, Olivia stated she still gave the woman $100 for her time, slightly terrified because her stylist was “tall and big.” She feared that her stylist wouldn’t let her out if she refused to pay.

“What do you mean you went comatose in the middle of my braiding appointment? And I’m trying to get these braids for my new job, okay?” Olivia said. She felt as though a wrench had been thrown on her plans all because her braider allegedly chose to snooze on her.

Sometimes you really have to be careful who you’re letting work on you, like this woman who realized all too late that her nail tech might be a tiny bit more volatile than anticipated.
