Lin-Manuel Miranda and Stephen Colbert Perform Potential Follow-up to Hamilton

"Button!" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Lin-Manuel Miranda is all over the place these days and I am HERE FOR IT. Full disclosure: I am a Hamilton fan–a fairly recent convert, yes, but thanks to various friends both on the Internet and IRL I have succumbed to the Hamilton hype. Apparently, so has Stephen Colbert–because he’s also started coming up with his own idea for a rap American musical that showcases one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Button Gwinnett.

Don’t get me wrong, the name is pretty awesome, but I feel like “Button!” may not reach the same heights as Hamilton has–though I love how willing and able Miranda is to play along with pretty much anything that’s asked of him on the talk show circuit. From free-styling about Darth Vader on The Tonight Show to performing this bit with Colbert, he does it all with the kind of genuine enthusiasm that makes you realize how lucky we are to be alive right now.

(And no, I will not apologize for obvious Hamilton reference.)
