The power of Selena Quintanilla-Pérez is unmatched by most. Despite her life being cut tragically short at 23, the legacy she has left behind for fans is more than some artist could ever hope to accomplish with decades of music.
In the book world, Patty Rodriguez and Ariana Stein’s new board book, La Vida de Selena, is selling out on Amazon and has even bumped down Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal. The book currently sits at No. 1 on Amazon’s Spanish-language book list. It has book a March publication date and can be preordered here if you are interested in getting your hands on this adorable book.
Lil’Libros has published books on other iconic Latinx women like Frida Kahlo and Celia Cruz. Rodriguez and Stein posted a sweet post on Instagram as another small tribute to the singer:
This is our way of saying thank you, Selena. Thank you for your music, energy, and love. The love you had for us – your community. But most importantly thank you for allowing us to dream just like you did. This is how we can thank you. By never forgetting you; by sharing your smile, music, and life with our children. By reminding them that you were us. That you loved and sang in two languages. That wherever you went you were proud of who you were and where you came from. By keeping you part of our family just like our parents did when you were here. This is for you. Thank you. 🌹
How have you given thanks to Selena today?
