Rose McIver, star of iZombie, typically does some voiceover work to describe her character’s inner monologue on the show—and she’s about to be joined by one of the great masters of TV narration, if only for one special episode. Kristen Bell, inner monologuist extraordinaire of Veronica Mars and Gossip Girl fame, will be guest-starring (and voiceover-ing!) in an upcoming iZombie episode called “Fifty Shades of Grey Matter.”
With a title like that, I think we can guess what the episode’s themes will be—BDSM and/or assholes with boundary issues, right?—but we don’t yet know what role Kristen Bell will play or how her character will fit into the larger world of the show.
Speaking of the show’s world, iZombie is surprisingly and refreshingly great, so don’t let your weariness of zombie tropes push you away from it if you haven’t checked it out yet. Rob Thomas (of Veronica Mars fame) runs the show, so it should come as no surprise that it’s clever and that Kristen Bell would want to be involved sooner or later.
