Would You Eat This Pervert-Themed Japanese Dish?

So, here are the problems with this, right off the bat:

It is called hentai-don. While don refers to a harmless Japanese dish with rice, hentai means “pervert.” Pervert rice. Maybe there’s a reason for this. Onto the next problem.

Hentai-don is made with shoes. Specifically, slippers worn indoors by young girls. Also, bras and bathing suits. The shoes are boiled, the bras and bathings suits grated and “sprinkled” over the dish. None of these things are edible, for starters. Next and final problem?

All of these items are used and were stolen by a 49-year old man. Good to know: that man has been arrested. Reports cite 748 stolen gym shoes and slippers as well as eggs that were stolen from the hens who reside at the school attended by the young, female shoe owners.

If you’re thinking to yourself, “Hey, clothing isn’t edible,” then you should be thinking that. Nothing is wrong with you for thinking that. In fact, that’s the initial problem I had with this story when I read it. Before realizing the perverted part of this, which takes a sort of cannibalistic turn for the truly weird. Let’s be frank: pervs exist. They’re out there, we can’t deny them, and the most we can hope for is that they don’t act on their fantasies. But this guy’s fantasy is eating girls’ clothes? Mostly their shoes? Smelling is not the same as eating when it comes to non-food items. In what universe does anyone want to eat shoes after smelling them? This is beyond being a pervert. This is pica. This is My Strange Addiction-type issues.

What you have just read is a human brain trying to wrap itself around this story in real time.
