A clip is going viral on social media right now, especially on platforms like X (formerly Twitter), from the House Republican Leadership press conference held on July 14, 2026. In it, Congresswoman Lisa McClain highlights the flaws of a society based on communism and seems to suggest that those who support such ideas are anti-American. She also urges these individuals to leave America. Her words in the video have drawn significant criticism from many, including Adam Kinzinger, a former House Representative, who identified himself as a Republican.

Lisa McClain’s anti-American comment elicits a response from Adam Kinzinger

In the clip from the recent House Republican Leadership press conference featuring Congresswoman Lisa McClain, she urges people who hate America “so much” to leave. Her exact words were, “I have great news for them. The beauty about living in America, the beauty about freedom, is that they are actually free to leave. So if you hate this country so much, there’s flights leaving every day. I welcome you to get on those flights and leave the country that you despise so much.”

Then, emphasizing how she and the Republicans differ from the “anti-American” crowd, McClain stated that as Republicans, she and others in her party love the United States and the “principles” it was built on. She also added that she and her party want to stay and continue building the country for future generations. In the clip, McCLain also criticized the “Communist left,” saying it aims to create dependency, coercion, censorship, and “oppressive government control over nearly every part of American life.”

Adam Kinzinger, while sharing a video of McClain’s words, suggested that the Republican Party should use her “more often” and, if possible, “make her the face of the GOP.” He also assured that he would be looking out for McClain and the Republican Party.

During the same event, Speaker Mike Johnson used his popular phrase again

Following the conclusion of the speeches during the House Republican Leadership press conference held on July 14, 2026, Speaker Mike Johnson took questions from the press. A notable moment during it, which has gained significant attention on social media, was when he was asked about the brutal killing of an individual (later identified as Joan Sebastian Guerrero) in Maine by ICE agents.

As the journalist asked Johnson if the DHS should take responsibility in cases like this, especially since ICE agents do not wear body cameras and are believed to have shown reluctance in doing so, Johnson said, “I don’t know anything about this event. I was a little busy yesterday.” He also added that he would “reserve judgment” until he learns more about the case in detail and assured that he would receive the necessary information that day.
