‘I did tear you and stitch you up’: Woman horrified to find out her doctor allegedly lied about stitching up her private area

A woman who claimed to have found stitches she wasn’t aware of has filmed her ordeal and posted it on TikTok. It all started when the woman discovered the stitches a few weeks after surgery, only to be told by her doctor that he didn’t put them there.
The woman named Hannah claimed that she had had surgery on her insides, and four weeks later she noticed stitches coming out from inside of her. Hannah said her doctor had never warned her that would happen, and, according to her, “it doesn’t make sense where the surgery was for stitches to be able to come out from inside of me.” She then called her doctor, whose receptionist told her, “he didn’t put a single stitch in you.”
The surgery had been a Laparoscopy to remove endometriosis, a type of keyhole surgery that some viewers claimed wouldn’t require stitches. So Hannah was left wondering who had put the stitches in her and why, and so she arranged an “urgent appointment” to get to the bottom of the bizarre mystery.
In a video which has since gone viral, Hannah filmed herself at the doctor’s surgery along with a clear plastic bag containing the mystery stitches. She said she was going to find out who was responsible and why they had done it.
Hannah finds out the truth
In a later post, Hannah appeared quite emotional as she confirmed that they were stitches. “I feel sick to my stomach,” the text reads. Comments were a mixed bag, with some understanding why she was so upset and others being dismissive of her concerns about her doctor. Some even called her “dramatic.” “Did you want them to stop surgery and wake you up to ask if it’s ok to place a stitch then [p]ut you back to sleep?” asked one person.
Responding to one comment asking if she’d rather the tear had been left open, Hannah said, “I’m not upset because I was torn and then stitched back up during surgery.” She claimed that “the issue is nobody told me about it, and I was actually explicitly told that there were no stitches in my body.”
“When I pulled stitches out of my vagina and called them, they said, ‘nope, that can’t be a stitch,’” Hannah said. However, when she showed the stitches to her doctor, she claimed he told her, “I remember now, I did tear you and stitch you up.”
The main concern that Hannah had was that she had not been made aware of the additional procedure, nor had she been told why it had been done. “If you went into surgery, and your surgeon who was in there the whole time said he didn’t put any stitches in you, and then you have stitches coming out of you, would you be scared?”
After Hannah explained her concerns most comments understood her fears: “It’s crazy that people think it’s not a big deal. How can you do infection prevention if you’re not told?” wrote one person. Some viewers even advised that Hannah sue for medical malpractice.
