The joey probably thought the bag was its mother’s pouch and did whatever it always does when faced with a soft dark opening.
Keep in mind that a certain level of awesome is required to approach a kangaroo, let alone bag them. Though normally peaceful, kangaroos will sometimes attack humans, and research shows such incidents are not all that uncommon, coming to about 20 reported attacks over 2 years. Them powerful hind legs will probably do quite a bit of damage to your ribs.
So it’s probably not a good idea to try this at home.
