Sterling K. Brown, Jodie Foster, & Jeff Goldblum Are Breaking Rules in Hotel Artemis Trailer

Recommended Videos

Hotel Artemis has a ridiculously talented cast, and it looks like the upcoming thriller will have more than enough badass characters and action scenes to keep the energy of the trailer going. Sofia Boutella nearly kills two people in these 2 minutes and 39 seconds alone!

The film takes place in Los Angeles 2028, and the synopsis reads:

“In HOTEL ARTEMIS, set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles, Jodie Foster plays The Nurse, who runs a secret, members-only emergency room for criminals. Surrounded by an all-star cast that includes Sterling K. Brown, Sofia Boutella, Jeff Goldblum, Bryan Tyree Henry, Jenny Slate, Zachary Quinto, Charlie Day, and Dave Bautista, HOTEL ARTEMIS is a stylish, high-octane action-thriller written and directed by Drew Pearce (writer of IRON MAN 3, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – ROGUE NATION, SHERLOCK HOLMES 3).”

Despite the clientele, the trailer tells us Hotel Artemis has a few rules, which include: no fighting and killing other patients, no disrespect towards the staff, no weapons, and the strangely normal “No outside food and drink.” I’m guessing a lot of those rules are going to be broken. As great as this trailer makes the movie look, it does manage to give quite a lot away—if you’re not too into that you might just want to wait for the release.

The score is by Cliff Martinez (Only God Forgives, Spring Breakers) and if you think the shots look amazing, you have cinematographer Chung Chung-hoon to thank for that (Oldboy, The Handmaiden, every Park Chan-wook you love, It: Chapter One).

Hotel Artemis comes to theaters June 8th. Are you going to check it out?
