The Time Has Come: Honest Trailers Tackles The Last Jedi

In a time where your opinion on Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the divisive geek equivalent to your stance on abortion, Honest Trailers manages to do something that not even the franchise has done, bring balance to the force.

Bringing back the Old Honest Trailer voice, he and the New Trailer voice both recap the latest installment of the Star Wars franchise from their pro-TLJ and anti-TLJ sides, because “the only way to talk about Star Wars, now, is in absolutes.” Aka Team “Whiner” vs. Team “Traitor.”

The video is great because it gives both sides what they want, to talk shit about the other side. While I am still very much working out my own feelings about Star Wars: The Last Jedi because of the deleted Finn scenes, I still find that the things that I dislike about TLJ are not what the “original” fans are disliking.

“Is it possible to miss pod-racing? I didn’t think so, but here we are.” You shut your dirty mouth, Original Honest Trailer Voice. Nothing is more boring than pod racing. I fell asleep both times I watched it. I haven’t fallen asleep in such a loud movie that way until Blade Runner 2049.

In addition to highlighting our differences, it also focuses on what we all loved about the movie: The Kylo/Rey fight scene, puppet Yoda hitting Luke with a stick, and PORGS.

And we also agree that good intention or no, Holdo not telling anyone her plan to teach Poe a lesson wasn’t the best way of handling that storyline. Also, ain’t nobody looking forward to Solo, rumors or not.

Those who have been rewatching are you still solidly on your pro or anti-team, or are you just honestly tired of arguing about The Last Jedi? Online anyway.
