An adorable and endearing family story is not the first thing that come to mind when I think about Heinz baked beans, but this animated commercial pulls it off perfectly in what could’ve been a Pixar short that aired before Up or Toy Story.Â
The description reads:
“Nobody knew where young Geoff’s obsession came from. All anyone knew was that the boy loved Beanz. In fact they were his entire life. But as is often the way, one moment, or one woman, changed everything. And that is where this story starts. Watch the film to see how Geoff came to invent the range of can sizes perfect for every Aussie.”
Geoff, our sweet red-headed inventor, begins the story a child who just inexplicably loves Beanz. As he eventually grows up to work at the company, he’s inspired to make different designs to accommodate two, then three, then four. As his family grows, so do his creations. (I had some upsetting Up flashbacks at points, but don’t worry this one is a fully happy story.)
I don’t even like beans and toast, but this heart-warming short has me craving it. What do you think about the commercial?
