A Tennessee woman went to Goodwill. Then she saw a large number of family photos that had been donated to the store.

TikToker Hannah (@whatshannahinto) mentioned that the sight of someone’s memories sitting on the shelf was incredibly sad in a video with over 5.5 million viewers. But commenters surprised her. They recognized the woman and even identified her full first and last name in the comments.

What did she find at Goodwill?

Hannah, a regular thrifter and travel enthusiast, ended up finding something deeply depressing at Goodwill while looking for a great haul. She inadvertently stumbled upon a large number of family photos that someone had donated.

There were baby photos, group photos, and pictures from marriages, all sitting on a shelf at the Goodwill. In Hannah’s video, she panned over all of the images, with many presumably dating back decades based on their color composition.

But, Hannah didn’t know that many commenters were familiar with one of the women who was supposedly in the pictures. They mentioned the name of a famous and well-celebrated R&B singer, Jill Scott, adding that it might be her.

Hannah made a connection and realized that Scott lives in the exact same area as her. Plus, commenters emphasized that “at least 4 of those pics were Jill Scott.”

More commenters emphasized this point, saying, “That’s the famous singer Jill Scott not sure why her images are there.” Another viewer expressed shock, adding, “Girl did you just find JILL SCOTTS FAMILY ALBUMS.”

So, Hannah decided to buy the pictures and dig much further to see if they actually were Scott’s photos.

Hannah purchases the pictures

Despite many viewers claiming that the pictures were of Scott, Hannah wanted to make sure and get in touch with an appropriate family contact before giving them away. Hannah said she was trying to either get ahold of her or someone that’s a part of her team to confirm that the photos are hers.

Viewers speculated as to how pictures of Scott ended up in Goodwill in the first place. If Scott is such a prominent figure, how did the pictures end up there, of all places? But a family member of Scott may likely have passed away, leading to the photos getting donated without many family members knowing about them.

It’s also still possible that the person in the photos may not actually be Scott. Despite hundreds of viewers saying that it had to be, there’s also not necessarily a full confirmation that they are, or that Scott is even aware of the photos existing in the first place.

Has Hannah gotten the photos back to their owner?

Hannah mentioned that Scott was difficult to get a hold of, but that is partially because she is a prominent public figure. For that reason, confirming whether Scott is the one in the photos will be difficult moving forward.

Commenters who work in the music industry, though, were able to provide Hannah with Scott’s PR and management contact. That way, she might be able to get in touch a bit faster.
