It’s Here! It’s Here! The Full Transformers: The Last Knight Trailer Is Here and Why Is Sir Anthony Hopkins in This?

Recommended Videos

Remember when I warned you that a full trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight was on the way? Well, it’s here and I’m… a little intrigued? Probably because this thing looks insane and I have absolutely no idea what’s going on.

Let’s start with the premise: So the humans and the machines are still not getting along, and Optimus Prime is somewhere in need of rescue. The key to saving the future lies in the past which happens to be during King Arthur’s reign. Oh yeah, didn’t they tell you? Transformers were hanging out with the Knights of the Roundtable, apparently. The mega awesome team that will save the world includes Mark Wahlberg as insert cool action guy name here Cade Yeager, Laura Haddock as Oxford professor Vivian Wembley, Bumble Bee and… Sir Anthony Hopkins!? Okay then.

From my understanding, the world has been overrun by Transformers, Optimus Prime is being manipulated by his “maker” to turn against his friends and all of this somehow ties back to King Arthur. Got it? Because I sure as heck don’t.

What I do know is that this movie looks to be in the same vein of the last handful or so that came before. You’ve got your slow pan of Earth, quick scenes of destruction, a pretty young girl saying things, Optimus Prime on the VO talking about how terrible everything is now, and slow-mo action shots of things exploding. At least these films know how to stay on brand?

Transformers: The Last Knight heads to theaters on June 23. Raise your hand if you plan to spend money on this.
