Last July 32-year-old Daniel Fleetwood was diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma and given two months to live. Daniel has outlived doctors’ expectations for him, but, as the lifelong Star Wars fan explains in this local news segment, he doesn’t know if he’ll survive to see Force Awakens on its official release date:

Under the hashtag #ForceForDaniel, fans have rallied for Daniel to be granted an early screening of the film; Mark Hamill, John Boyega, and Peter Mayhew have all helped spread the word on their personal twitters.

Collider points out that J.J. Abrams has a precedent of accommodating the wishes of terminally ill fans. In 2013, he arranged an advance screening of Star Trek Into Darkness for a fan who then passed away several days after having their wish granted.

Here’s hoping the powers-that-be are aware of Daniel’s situation and open to helping out. Let’s make #ForceForDaniel happen!
