Ewan McGregor and Dinosaurs? Literally Say Less. Take My Money

You can say a few words and I’d be sold on some movie ideas. Like the new film, The End of Oak Street. Produced by JJ Abrams, the film is written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, the man who brought us the horror film It Follows. Oh and it also features Ewan McGregor and some dinosaurs.

Again, you can say very little and I’d be into it. Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor star as a husband and wife whose house and the street they live on is transported to a new place. That place includes a scary cliff at the end of the block as well as a T-Rex following the family around the house. To the trailer’s credit, it doesn’t give much more away. And I hope that it stays that way because I love knowing absolutely nothing but because so committed to the film already.

The End of Oak Street is described as follows: “After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.”

Alongside Hathaway and McGregor is My Old Ass star Maisy Stella and Christian Convery. And I guess whatever dinosaurs are around. The End of Oak Street is set to hit theaters on August 14.

You can put dinosaurs in anything and I will be there

Look, I am all about the simple things. Every year, I rewatch Jurassic Park, I love thinking about dinosaurs and if you put actors I love in a movie with them? That’s a win-win situation. And I do love when actors take big swings with their careers. The trailer itself reminded me a lot of Hathaway’s work in the film Colossal where she played a woman whose alter ego was a city destroying monster.

But I do also love how original this feels just from the little information we have. An entire block is transported to a different place? Is this a different time or how do the dinosaurs come into play? I have a lot of questions about it and they’re all ones I’m very excited to have answered when I finally get to see The End of Oak Street.
