I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this is the first time TMS has gotten a movie rumor from a wrestling site.
So, Dave Bautista. The pro wrestler who brought everybody’s favorite hyper-literal hero to life. According to a report at PW Mania, Bautista and Marvel are in the process of restructuring his contract. In addition to locking down his appearance in the next GotG movie, the new contract allegedly assures that Drax will have a “significant role” in The Avengers 3.
Though Marvel hasn’t confirmed anything yet (of course), this story does make a lot of sense. We’ve known for a while that Thanos’ quest for the Infinity Stones is going to play an increasingly larger part in the Avengers movies, so Drax would fit right in there. And given the towering mountains of cash these movies are raking in, a crossover seems like a sure bet. That said, we won’t even be seeing the next Guardians movie until 2017, so we’re in for a long spin around the rumor mill.
