Dolly Parton’s estate sues her nephew over alleged brand threats. They now claim he’s hiding behind barbed wire: “I sold $27M worth of ammunition.”
Seaver seems to be avoiding being served.

Dolly Parton’s estate continues its legal battle with the country singer’s nephew and former head of security, Bryan Seaver. The estate, which manages Parton’s business empire, is suing Seaver for allegedly threatening and extorting the estate. Now, the estate claims that Seaver is evading the lawsuit by using a no-trespassing sign and barbed wire on his property.
The threats from Seaver in the court filing include vows to destroy Parton’s brands and a claim that Seaver allegedly made in which he calls himself an “international arms dealer and mercenary.” One text in the filing from Seaver allegedly reads, “I’m not an entertainment person. I’m a killer. I sold 27 million $ worth of ammunition and arms to the Haitian Police on the day Parton died. Entertainment is not my game. I have spent my career breaking things and spying on African and Arab leaders. And protecting Dolly.”
Seaver said the texts were the result of two guys talking in rage while grieving. Seaver requested extra time for the case, which has led the estate to claim that he’s evading the lawsuit. Now, the estate is asking the court to deny Seaver’s request for an extension so as not to reward him for allegedly trying to avoid being served.
Parton’s estate has a temporary restraining order against Seaver
Parton’s estate, managed by a company called She’s Alive LLC, was given a temporary restraining order against Seaver and his company by a Tennessee judge, who ruled that Seaver displays a “present and continuing disruption and threat” to the estate.
Seaver told ABC News that he’s unable to speak publicly about the situation due to the lawsuit, but he denies the allegations of threatening the estate. He calls the threats contrived and says they were used to fire him in September following Parton’s death from a short battle with cancer on August 25.
The next hearing for this case is scheduled to take place on October 9.
Meanwhile, Parton lives on through her work
Parton is known for many talents, and these have allowed her to create a business empire. She even spent her final days working on plans that will keep her empire going for decades, with some plans locked away until the 2040s.
Perhaps her most well-known work, aside from Dollywood, is her Imagination Library, a charity that helps bring books to children who might not have access to reading materials otherwise.
