New Doctor Who Miniseries Included in DVD Might Tide You Over ‘Til Next Fall

It Goes Ding When There's Stuff

According to the BBC’s official announcement concerning the boxed DVD set of season six of the current Doctor Who, part of the bonus features will be a five episode miniseries called Night and the Doctor.

The installment was written by Steven Moffat specifically for the DVD release, however the announcement doesn’t specifically say how long they are.

While the language doesn’t preclude the idea that we might be getting five lengthy mini-episodes of a single story, that seems like a pretty hefty and expensive addition to a DVD release. It’s much more likely, says Bleeding Cool, that they’re ten to fifteen minute shorts that string a story together between them.

Still, that’s at least an hour of new Who to tide us over to the Easter special. And then comes the long, lonely summer…
